Dashingly Good Art from the West Midlands

Tear Aways was the final exhibition from the last cycle of the After Hours programme run by Creative Alliance with the aid of funding from the Arts Council England and The Learning and Skills Council.
The show was held at the Custard Factory, Birmingham and was open to the public from Friday 24th November to Saturday 2nd December 2006 and the Private View being held on Thursday 23rd November 2006.

It was during After Hours that the members of Strange Ways first met, all being part of the ‘Off the Wall’ strand of the programme. The positive effect that participating in the After Hours programme had on all of the artists and the rewarding experience of working together on the Tear Aways show were the motivations behind the formation of the Strange Ways collective in the early part of 2007.

Exhibiting at Tear Aways were; Heidi Berry, Annette Bowery, Mike Buckle, Elena Casidy-Smith, Harmeet Chagger-Khan, Alison Clawley, Naomi Cole, Taryn Coxshall, Danya Defratus, Avril Elward, Anna Field, Rita Fletcher, John Garghan, Helen Grundy, Anne Guest, Mike Hale, Phillip Jones, Caroline Kearney, Helen Kelly, Richard Nicholls, Alison Pamer, Sharon Parton, Simon Randall, Sarah Ray, Hannah Rumsby, Ashley Spindler, Angel Stripe, Anl Teli, Lisa Marie Thompson, Sharon Walford, Simon White, Fung Ye Tsang.
